Players are expected to attend BOTH tryout dates (please see coach coordinator regarding any conflicts) (All tryouts will be held at the Tree Farm Recreational Facility unless otherwise indicated.) Tryout Format Tryouts will involve individual skill evaluations and game play. They are planned and run by the tryout coordinators, coaches and assistant coaches. Players will be evaluated by assessors who grade on skills, tactical understanding, teamwork, and athleticism. If anyone has any questions regarding the tryouts you may contact either the “Tryout Coordinator” or the Head Coaches’ Coordinator.
Team Selections - All team selections will be done by Head Coaches plus one or more of the following: Coach Coordinator Board Member Board Appointed Designee - All team selections/notifications will be completed two weeks after the last tryout date for each age group/gender bracket and sent out by mail. - Essex United will maintain a “wait list” for players registered who are not selected for a team. General Team Structure “A” team will comprise the top 12 to 18 players in the age group based on tryouts. “AB” team will comprise the next highest rated players based on tryouts. “B” team will comprise the next highest rated players based on tryouts. If there is more than one B team in each any age group, they will be balanced in skill level.
