FAQs:
*When are tryouts?
We hold tryouts for U10+ at the end of September each year. Watch this website and follow us on Facebook for updates on pre-registration and tryouts! We try to build our U10+ teams in time for December, for those interested in indoor training/options. U8 is an open-registration and teams can continue to build until February.
*When do teams train/play?
Essex United is a SPRING soccer club. That said, we do offer *free* indoor winter training that is OPTIONAL. Individual teams may choose to hold more indoor trainings and may choose to participate in indoor winter leagues, all for a small additional cost. In the spring our official season begins.
The club participates in the Vermont Soccer League. Teams train twice weekly at our home fields at the Tree Farm Recreational Facility in Essex. Trainings start in mid-April and spring games are each weekend starting the first week in May and run through mid-June. Home games are played at the Tree Farm and away games are played within a 1-2 hour distance (this is the VERMONT soccer league! We like to meet all our peers, whether on our home field or theirs!).
All teams have Memorial Day weekend and Father’s Day weekend off. Some teams choose to go to away tournaments those weekends. *All coaches have the ability to adjust training and game schedules to meet the specific needs of their team. The season wraps at the annual Essex United Tournament & Shootout at the end of June. How cool that we have our OWN tournament! And we’ve been doing it for a long, long time!
*What about FALL soccer?
EUSC is a huge supporter of our school and rec teams. We strongly encourage players to enjoy the fall with school friends by registering with the Essex Park and Rec for their Fall Soccer program, which runs by grade, K-6. The middle schools have teams and the high school has competitive teams as well as just-for-fun fall soccer club programs. Check them out and support your community options!
*How do I coach for EUSC?
EUSC prides itself on the coaches. They’re really the heart of our club and they bring their own style and traditions to each team. At EUSC coaches have a lot of flexibility to make their team special. A team or B team, ALL teams have the right to a great experience, and it’s always the coaches that make that happen. Interested coaches should reach out to our vice president Ken Willetts to get the ball rolling!
